Breaking Ground on New Day Camp Building!

It’s been over half a century since there has been any new building constructed at our day camp. Well, we
have BIG NEWS. We have just broken ground on a wonderful new facility!

Our new multi-purpose building (yet to be named) is scheduled to be ready for this summer. Finally, all of our day
campers can gather together in one place when it rains and have fun indoor activities rain or shine including movies, arts and crafts, drama and music. Breakfast and lunch will also be served there daily… so no more converted garage!
The large common room in the new building will also have the following features:

  • Audio visual projector and screen
  • Changing area with cubbies
  • Day Camp Field Office
  • Kitchen
  • Nurses’ Suite
  • Stage (portable)
  • Storage

Since the building is located directly behind the day camp pool, campers will no longer need to use makeshift changing rooms at our pavilion. Increased numbers of bathrooms and lockers will make camper life better!

To date, we have raised $147,000 in phase one of our Capital Campaign. The goal for phase one is $250,000. We need to reach it no later than June 1st of this year. As soon as we surpass our goal we will enter phase two, our final phase. It is our hope that we will be able to have at least half the building paid for by our friends and supporters. Please consider acting right away, by making a pledge. We are accepting pledges over a five year period. E-mail Rob Kutzik ( or Susan Daily ( for more information on Naming Opportunities and Leaving a Living Legacy.
